Beattie McGuinness Bungay, (BMB) the advertising agency behind some of McCain, Carling and Yorkshire Tea’s biggest ad campaigns have hit upon the novel idea of documenting a road trip from LA to New York, taking tea to ex pats along the route.

The £5 million campaign will send staff from the Company as mobile representatives in a van dubbed ‘Little Urn’ taking tea to ex-pats in need of a ‘proper brew’ such as former Bros front man Matt Goss, who features in the first ad, receiving his tea before playing a show in Caesar’s Palace, Las Vegas.

A Facebook page dedicated to the road trip allows followers to suggest destinations for subsequent stops, making the campaign a more interactive experience.

The first ad is due to air next month, at peak time, during Coronation Street, and marks a new direction for the company who have previously used Aardman Animation’s Wallace and Gromit in their campaigns. (www.marketingmagazine.co.uk)
