Last Friday Paris Fashion week came to a close, rounding out the SS14 ready-to-wear show circuit which started in New York, bypassed through London and Milan and finished in the French capital.
I was lucky enough to be in the City of Light over the weekend to experience the buzz and excitement while shows from the likes of Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Alexander McQueen and Ellie Saab took place in some of the city’s most famous landmarks.
Now I know Parisians are well renowned for their super stylish dress sense, but this was more evident than ever when we bypassed the Chanel show outside the Grand Palais. Socialites and celebs were decked out in their very best Chanel suits, matched with sky high Louboutins, wearing outfits that probably cost the same as the average UK annual income.
However extravagant it may seem, the visionary designers of these brands have set the next season’s trends for the high street and after the winter weather has started to warm again we’ll be seeing similar versions in all our favourite stores.
