It looks like Christmas was good for our great British retailers,  House of Fraser are reporting their ‘best Christmas ever’ thanks to a surge in online sale over the festive period with sales up 7.3% compared with 2012.  John Lewis also reported a 6.9% like-for-like increase in sales, Andy Street, managing director, said the company had “outperformed” the market and enjoyed its biggest ever day on 27th December, when they generated sales of more than £35m. Meanwhile our favourite independent retailer Barker & Stonehouse reported record levels of sales on Boxing Day too. What a great start to 2014, and long may it continue…
