Cool Blue was on countdown duty when one of Newcastle City Council’s latest campaigns was unveiled.
Go Digital Newcastle is bringing superfast broadband to 97pc of the city by summer 2015. The project is delivering free business support to SMEs across the city along with vouchers worth up to £3,000 to get connected to superfast broadband.
The profile-raising exercise swung into action with a media launch at the Centre For Life and the countdown video (seen here) broadcast at various locations across the city.
Meanwhile on the other side of town highly-visibility ads began to appear, a social media campaign kicked off and regional media was invited to spread the word to make sure local firms didn’t miss out on the free help and support that’s available.
Businessmen and women, TV cameras, journalists, photographers and guest speakers including Herb Kim and Chi Onwurah MP, packed into the Centre for Life.
Those lucky enough to be at the event learned more about the project and were entertained by a group of next generation superheroes.
The caped crusaders from Stagecoach Theatre School Newcastle made an energetic contribution to the event, which was attended by scores of companies and organisations.
The campaign was well received with media online and offline reporting the launch. That’s now being followed up with a series of planned events and businesses across the city being targeted with eye-catching mailers.
