This week’s been a busy one for Cool Blue. Not only did we receive two Fresh PR Awards for our work with Lingfield Point and the Festival of Thrift, we also helped to launch The Core, an innovative new building in Newcastle complete with Europe’s tallest living wall.
Built in the city’s multi-million pound Science Central development, on the former Newcastle Breweries site, The Core is the perfect example of sustainable urban regeneration. It specifically provides contemporary office space for firms working on a range of future city challenges including energy, transport, big data and cloud computing.
Owned by Newcastle City Council, the building is managed by award-winning company, Creative Space Management – who also manage our Newcastle HQ, the Toffee Factory. We secured a range of great coverage – from BBC’s Look North (the most watched programme in the North of England) to page leads in the Evening Chronicle and The Journal.
But more on this living wall – spanning a full four storeys it’s planted with ivy, seagrass, thyme, and edible wild strawberries, it even features a range of bee hotels, for the ultimate in insect luxury, take a look at the photo below for a sneak peek at how it’s shaping up.
