A treat in store
CROONERS, canapés and kiss curls were the order of the day when Mad Men met Barker and Stonehouse in Knaresborough.
Cool Blue team members were among dozens of partygoers to don 1950s’ style costumes to mark the completion of the new Barker and Stonehouse store at St James Retail Park last night more than 60 years after the company was founded.
Crooner David Ball’s sultry renditions of 50s’ favourites soon had the crowd swooning and sashaying, whilst the energy levels went through the roof when The Dance Mob demonstrated several of their lively dance sets.
DJ Joel Young made sure the store opening took place to a backdrop of fantastic music from the era.
And a special, unexpected, moment was provided in the shape of B&S customers Gordon Brown and his wife Jean, who dressed up for the occasion and gave us all a treat when they took a spin round the dance floor.
Once the champagne flutes were cleared and the last of the guests wandered out into a chilly winter’s eve all agreed it had been a night to remember.
And we get to do it all over again tonight !!!!
