This week we headed to London’s Olympia to check out what the latest Ideal Home Show had to offer. Now in its 107th year, the show features everything you might need to create the ‘ideal home’, from beautiful homewares to fixtures, fittings and savvy housing designs.

For us, the room sets are a great place to gather interiors inspiration and spot some of this season’s must-have trends in action. Styled using a mix of established brands and smaller up-and-coming designers, each room has been specifically created to be both aspirational and affordable.

The Ideal Home magazine room set centered on the theme of the earth’s natural palette; a delicate mix of soft mineral colours, raw woods and metallic accents. Spring’s big botanical trend was translated into a stylish dining setting with bold tropical prints from Sanderson, charcoal grey walls and subtle gold finishes in abundance.

In an Indigo & Earth themed living room Multiyork’s new Oregon corner sofa took centre stage and was complemented by driftwood textures and silver accessories. Dulux’s Colour of the Year for 2015, Copper Blush, was the backdrop to the bedroom and was matched with playful pastels, geometric prints and soft oak furniture from Barker and Stonehouse.

New to the exhibition this year was the House Beautiful ‘Dream Home’, created to coincide with the launch of their premier collection of custom-built houses. Showcasing four blueprints ranging from a one-storey starter to a split, multi-generation home, each space had been designed to accommodate the changing patterns of family life.

As well as being beautifully styled with many striking pieces from Barker and Stonehouse, it was great to see these chic spaces paired with an innovative approach to modern living. For us, that’s what the Ideal Home Show is all about.

The Ideal Home Show runs until the 6th April. Information and tickets can be found at
