Phew, what a whirlwind! This weekend saw the culmination of two of this year’s major sporting events – Euro 2016 and Wimbledon – and I must admit, I’m rather pleased to see the back of the Euro’s (I finally have my TV back). But if you’re still caught up in all the excitement, we’ve picked some of our favourite campaigns from the last few months:
Nike – The Switch
Ronaldo’s final may have been short-lived but his ad for Nike was the most shared video from Euro 2016.
Infused with passion, excitement, humour and an inspiring story at its core, the six minute clip sees Ronaldo swap bodies with an English ball boy during an England vs Portugal game.
With more than 330,000 shares and 51,000,000+ views since its launch on 9 June, this was one in the back of the net for Nike.
Jaguar teamed up with British number one and now two-time Wimbledon Men’s Singles Champion Andy Murray to promote its #FeelWimbledon campaign.
The luxury car manufacturer commissioned digital specialists Mindshare and Hammerhead to develop a 360-degree virtual reality tour of Centre Court.
Capturing the attention of commuters and tennis fans alike, 20,000 Jaguar-branded Google Cardboard kits were handed out in London tube stations allowing people to watch the 4D video using their smartphones at feelwimbledon.com.
If Carlsberg did substitutions
He’s well-known for his classic one liners and Chris Kamara was a top sport when it came to going undercover for Carlsberg’s Euro 2016 campaign.
The Sky Sports pundit took to the tube to ‘substitute ordinary experiences for the extraordinary for England fans’.
The result? A feel-good video that was anything but ordinary.
