It is congratulations all round as we celebrate the Festival of Thrift winning the Best Event in Teesside award at The Journal’s 2014 Culture Awards.

Not only to the festival team, our Cool Blue team and our Managing Director Tanya – who’s nifty thinking sparked the idea that ended up bringing together the most innovative businesses and people to create the Festival of Thrift.

Lingfield Point got co-curators Wayne and Gerardine Hemingway on board, who along with the festival squad, put on a fabulous event that was in keeping with the way of life at Lingfield Point  – stylish, sustainable, funky,  quirky – and great fun.

And of course we played our part in helping to attract a whopping 27,000 visitors – from designing the brand for the festival, to building its website, letting people know all about it via PR and social media and advertising the event .

The awards showcase all things cultural in the North East  and after a tense couple of hours punctuated by outstanding performances from The Doonans,  Frankie and The Heartstrings and a ‘pop up’ appearance from Fern Britton,  it was time for us to find out our hard work had paid off.

The Festival of Thrift team is now preparing for festival number two on Saturday and Sunday, September 27 and 28 – and looking forward to many more successes.
