Lead Developer

We’re looking for an upbeat new team member that’s an experienced PHP Developer who’ll be responsible for the development and maintenance of client websites and applications.

You will work on a variety of projects from simple websites to internal applications for a wide range of clients.

Applicants must be able to plan and structure work from concept, through specification, coding and final testing – whilst considering the real-time needs of the business.

Being flexible enough to react to the rapidly changing demands of our agency is essential, therefore the ideal person for this role will be able to think quickly, plan carefully and be able to rapidly deploy robust, well-tested solutions.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Solid PHP5 development experience
  • Experience with CMS systems and theme development (WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, etc.)
  • Experience with ecommerce systems and development (WooCommerce, Magento 1 & 2, etc.)
  • HTML5, CSS3
  • SASS/ LESS
  • Core JavaScript, new ECMAScript features
  • Responsive Frameworks (Bootstrap, Foundation)
  • Responsive design and implementation
  • Usage of APIs
  • Usage console/terminal
  • Source/Version control systems (Git)
  • cross-browser/cross-platform compatibility issues
  • Comfortable using workflow tools (gulp, webpack, npm scripts, bower, etc.)

Desirable

  • Experience with one or more JavaScript libraries and/or frameworks such as JQuery, Angular, React, Node.js, Express, Vue etc.
  • Software development methodologies, e.g. agile
  • OOP concepts, understanding and their implementation details
  • Experience with email marketing systems (Mail Chimp)
  • Adherence to web standards and best practices
  • Basic understanding of using Photoshop
  • Web Marketing; SEO and Inbound Marketing

Studio Account Manager

As an experienced account manager you’ll be supporting the Studio Account Director team in the day to day running of integrated client campaigns.

A background in an integrated agency or busy design studio environment with excellent knowledge of digital and design-for-print, project planning and delivery is essential for this role. You should also have an excellent knowledge of how to scope, specify, brief and price work.

You’ll be taking responsibility for client and team liaison to ensure effective progress and to maintain budgets.

As is usual in studio based roles the hours can sometimes stretch beyond 5pm. We try to minimise this where possible but some client deadlines and/or meeting locations demand this kind of flexibility.

Job Scope & Expectations

  • Ensuring the effective day-to-day progress of client work in accordance with the campaign plan, objectives and budgets
  • Excellent functional knowledge of integrated studio work and processes: ideally you will also have experience of working on large-scale integrated campaigns; direct mail campaigns (e-mail and print); brochure work and a range of web & digital projects; experience of retail campaigns would be a positive advantage.
  • An ability to communicate with clients and team (written and verbal) to a high professional standard
  • Great attention to detail in the scoping, pricing and sign-off procedures
  • We are ISO 9001 accredited so you’ll be expected to adhere to the relevant protocols
  • Assisting on new work pitches and proposal writing if required
  • Ensuring regular client contact (both face to face and by phone, not just by email)
  • Be self-starting and able to make appropriate day-to-day decisions on your client work
  • Attending/hosting/documenting client meetings
  • You should have a clean UK driving licence and, ideally, your own vehicle for attending client meetings if required
