The Task:

Barker & Stonehouse is the UK’s biggest independent furniture retailer with nine stores offering the very best in covetable furniture and accessories.

July 2013 saw the opening of its first London store and our aim was to make a real impression on the UK’s leading interiors media.

Solution & Results:

To get the new store off to a great start we combined a heavy feature placement plan with an all-day in-store media Autumn/Winter press event.

Over 70 ‘news’ announcements were secured for the store launch across national consumer and trade press including key titles such as the Evening Standard, Living etc, House & Garden, FT How to Spend It, Homes & Gardens, Elle Deco and Retail Week amongst many others.

The press event saw more than 30 of the UK’s most influential lifestyle and interiors journalists and bloggers in attendance, including editors from all key titles.

A full-to-capacity evening reception crowned the day with over 250 guests joining the celebrations.

Since then Cool Blue has ensured a consistently high profile for Barker & Stonehouse within the UK’s leading interiors magazines and blogs with products and advice pieces regularly appearing.
