A new home for the Design Museum
With only days to go until the grand opening of the new Design Museum in London I can hardly wait to plan a visit!
A design team led by John Pawson has transformed the building. Pawson is a renowned minimalist architectural designer with projects ranging from stores for Calvin Klein, to ballet sets, and a new Cistercian monastery in Bohemia.
The new museum is set within a landmark grade II listed 1960s modernist building in South Kensington. Pawson has used a palette of oak, stone and white paint to create a “theatre” by circulating visitors.
With 10,000 square feet of space, dedicated to contemporary design and architecture – it’s three times the size of its previous riverside home.
As one of the world’s leading museum of contemporary design and architecture, it is the perfect source of inspiration for the many design projects we work on here at Cool Blue. From beautiful graphic design, iconic product design and impactful installations – there’s everything to get our creative juices flowing!
