Taking a brand to the capital

The delivery vans have departed, the press invitations have been sent and the finishing touches have been put in place – the stage is set for North East retailer Barker and Stonehouse to introduce itself to London.

The ninth store in the company’s portfolio, the Battersea store will occupy two storeys of the former Price’s Candle Factory in Battersea, a location which will attract attention and firmly establish Barker and Stonehouse as a big name in the city.

And comments across social media platforms such as Facebook and Twitter suggest that, for some at least, the move is a long time coming.

First established in 1946, Barker and Stonehouse has always looked forward,  constantly investing in the future and expanding its store portfolio, most recently with the flagship Knaresborough store, which opened in December.

It’s been quite a ride for proudly northern firm and, for the last decade, Cool Blue has been there every step of the way.

With Barker and Stonehouse, we’ve launched stores, set trends, created award-wining campaigns and helped customers create their very own ‘Barker and Stonehouse’.

Now, the London store is a chance to build on the success of Cool Blue’s previous media relations campaigns.

Consumer magazines are already familiar with the brand due to the company’s award-winning webstore, but the northern locations of the existing stores have limited the opportunities for product loans, which generate the most coverage in high circulation publications.

With the London store up and running, we’ll be right on the journalists’ doorsteps, ready, willing and able to provide products and promote the North East retailers to a whole new audience.
