Family footwear firm Charles Clinkard is celebrating its 90th anniversary with a special competition that’s set to give away thousands of pounds worth of shoes – and gather the UK’s largest collection of shoe selfies.

The ‘win shoes for a year’ campaign invites customers to upload a picture featuring their favourite Clinkard shoes to a competition website – with one lucky shoe-snapper selected as the winner each month, receiving six pairs of shoes from brands including Clarks, Gabor and Rieker.

Now in its second month, the competition has received a flurry of entries – all sharing a story about the adventures their Clinkard shoes take them on. Some quirky, some cute and others down-right adorable.

Since its first store opening in 1924, the family firm has grown from strength to strength, with a 33-strong chain of UK stores and soaring online presence. The company wanted to find a way to celebrate being with its customers through all their ‘walks of life.’

The competition website, built by Cool Blue, works on mobiles, tablets and desktops so that Clinkard shoppers can upload pics while they’re at home, trying on a new pair of shoes in store, or out-and-about on fun-filled family adventures.

It also uses social sharing functionality to help spread the news of Clinkard’s 90 year celebrations and further-raise the profile of the retail giant across social media platforms.
