V&A inspired, John Lewis designed
I am loving John Lewis’ new and exclusive V&A collection. The collection features 18 beautiful decorative pieces for your home including lighting, furniture and textiles.
Inspired by the collections and interiors within the Victoria and Albert Museum, the department store’s in-house design team has captured the creative spirit of the museum.
My favourite items come from the tabletop collection, featuring unique illustrations inspired by the V&A’s collection of Japanese art and design. The delicate gold designs on fine white china are simply stunning and as with all the pieces feel really special and timeless.
The Paxton Cloche Table Lamp is a domed shape light which takes inspiration from the visual details, form and materials of the original Crystal Palace, home to the Great Exhibition. The profits from the 1851 exhibition helped fund the creation of the V&A.
Philippa Prinsloo, home design manager said ‘Each piece tells the unique story of a certain exhibit or architectural detail within the museum, and we aim to tell these stories through the way we present this exciting series to our customers.’
When the range launches in late August I’ll certainly be poised to purchase a piece or two – it would look fantastic styled in our upcoming photo shoots!
