Last month Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg announced at a Q&A session at Facebook’s headquarters that after many years of pressure the social media network would be introducing a so called “dislike” button to allow uses to show empathy.
It has recently been announced that this will come in the form of the new “Reactions” feature. This feature will expand “Like” alongside six further animated emojis including love, haha, yay, wow, sad and angry – the most commonly used expressions across the platform according to research.
The new feature is currently being tested by users in Ireland and Spain. When it will be made available to everyone is still unclear, but it will likely depend on how users respond during initial testing. So it remains to be seen – what will the reaction be to Facebook “Reactions”?
