Steel River Quay is a leading port facility located on the River Tees, specialising in handling heavy cargo, wind turbine components and a wide range of industrial shipments.
As a key hub for logistics and renewable energy infrastructure, it plays a crucial role in supporting the North East’s economic growth and industrial development.
The Challenge
Steel River Quay plays a vital role in the North East’s industrial and renewable energy landscape but its digital presence didn’t fully reflect the scale, ambition or impact of the operation.
With audiences ranging from industry partners and stakeholders to local communities, Steel River Quay needed a clearer, more confident way to tell its story across social media, its website and wider brand touchpoints.
Our brief was to refresh the brand’s presence across key channels, create consistency in how the business showed up visually and verbally, and build momentum through engaging, informative content.
Our Approach
In line with Steel River Quays’ requirements, Cool Blue developed a programme of activity which would provide strategic, hands-on support across social media, website content and brand collateral.
1. Brand Collateral
To support consistency across all touchpoints, we designed a suite of on-brand assets that included PowerPoint templates, letterheads, business cards and email signatures, all supplied in editable and print-ready formats to support future use.

2. LinkedIn Page Enhancements and Ongoing Social Media Support
We optimised Steel River Quay’s LinkedIn page to create a more professional and engaging first impression. This included refreshed banner imagery, improved profile copy and clearer company details.
From there, we introduced a structured monthly content plan built around evergreen posts and timely updates. Content was designed to be informative, relevant and shareable, using a mix of formats including static posts, reels and polls.

3. Website Enhancements
Working closely with a trusted third-party web developer, we helped evolve Steel River Quay’s existing holding page into a comprehensive website where key stakeholders and new business enquiries could be safely directed. This included advising on structure and user experience, drafting clear and engaging copy, and supporting the creation of new pages. We also advised on imagery, graphics and other visual assets to enhance the overall look and feel of the site.

The Results
The impact of the refreshed approach was immediate, particularly on LinkedIn!
Within the first month of Cool Blue managing the channel, Steel River Quay saw significant growth across all key metrics:

These results demonstrated a stronger connection with target audiences and laid the foundations for sustained growth and engagement.

The Outcome
By refreshing Steel River Quay’s brand collateral, social presence and website, Cool Blue helped the business present a more cohesive, confident and engaging identity across all channels.
Our work continues to support Steel River Quay’s long-term goals, ensuring its communications reflect the scale, importance and future-facing nature of the operation.
